The Homestead Homeschool Origin Story
The Homestead Homeschool curriculum was created by a homesteader for homesteaders and self-reliant families who want their children to learn life skills and vocational skills to as part of their homeschool academic learning process. All of the Homestead Homeschool theme units and programs grow with your child from preschool through high school - making it easy peasy to teach multiple age children at once and keeping the cost of educating your children low while still filling their days with engaging and inspiring hands-on discovery.
Tara Dodrill, a former educator and homesteading instructor, created the homesteading and life skills based curriculum initially just for the benefit of her own ,grandchildren. But, after seeing how well the program worked for her grandkiddos from both a learning and fun perspective, she shared the original units with homeschooling friends, who ultimately urged her to share them with the masses ... and make more interactive homeschooling units and learning games for children of all ages.
